Public Speaking ABC

public speakingBalancing- How to be a Public Speaking Star

You will need balance to write your speech and deliver it on stage. Balance is one of the best human features supplied to us, however many people have difficulty finding balances in all areas of their life.

Balancing also includes setting up balance for the time you will work on your speech and attend to other details in your life. Put the most important things first and set aside the least important for last. A great ideal is to become familiar with what you do so that you will feel more comfortable handling the task.

You are wise to seek out a stability zone. This will help you to stay in touch with all the important things that will help you work productively. This
includes family and friends, since these people can help you prepare for your speech.

This brings us to the point of structuring a support system. The support system will come in handy as you start to panic during preparing for your speech. You can also use your mind as a support system by recalling major events in your life where you failed. Think about these events and try to scan through the problems that lead to the failure. This will help you to learn from your mistakes and avoid them.

If you are scared of talking in crowds you can gain balance by meeting new people as you work through your speech. In other words, go out into the public and say hello to a stranger walking down the side walk. Go to the areas in town where you can find information to help you put your speech together and talk to people as you search for the information. You could also go to a local AA Meeting and learn to greet people and talk about your feelings during the meeting. You might not be an alcoholic, however go in as a supporter.

As you work toward finishing the speech you can also plan your weeks, gradually work into the speech, delegate your tasks, add time to your day, and so forth. If you plan your week properly including preparing for emergencies you will have the time you need to work on.

If you have other tasks between working your speech ask friends or family if they can help you out for a week so that you can spend more time on your speech. If you don't have anyone to help you, consider putting things that matter less off for now and work on your speech instead. Between working on your speech find a few minutes each day so that you can do something fun to refresh your mind. Delegating is asking for help, while sharing tasks.

You can add time to your days by getting up earlier. I am a morning person and during the morning you have natural energy which you can exploit to write your speech. Always eat a healthy breakfast each morning as you awake so that you can make your energy last a bit longer. Ignoring breakfast will give you negative energy and will make it difficult for you to concentrate.

During your hours of writing the speech try to apply the things you've learnt through experience and education. Combining the two will help you see things in a fuller light. Of course you need to research the topic to verify the facts, accordingly learn so that you will have a speech that will make you a star.

Finally, the day before the speech practice again, reviews, recite and so forth, which can prepare you for the stage. Have it planned ahead of time, as well get all your items together at night so you don't have to rush in the morning. Now you can take a few deep breathes and go knock 'em dead!
